RULES & REGULATIONS

The base rate is $1.67 per van mile in or out-of-county (plus $25 per hour if the driver is required to wait on a passenger). Private contracts are considered on an individual basis and costs will be quoted based on the request.

There is no cost to ride Cleveland County Transit. Route deviation of ¾ mile from the nearest stop may be available upon request. The request must be made during normal business hours and at least 24 hours in advance. Only one deviation per round is available.
Smoking, eating, and drinking are not permitted.
When previously arranged, one person acting as an aide, will be allowed to ride with the scheduled passenger at no charge. Guide dogs are always welcome.
Scheduled routes operate between 7:15 a.m. and 3:08 p.m., Monday through Friday, except New Year’s Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day (2 days), and Christmas (2 days). Call 704-482-2311 for details.
All vans/buses are ADA compliant. Vans are equipped with an audio and video surveillance recording system.
TACC will limit or cancel scheduled trips when hazardous road conditions are present. Listen to WOHS radio station, WBTV(3) or WSOC (9) television stations for delayed openings or closings.
Riders who interfere with the safety or privacy of other riders or the driver may be suspended from transportation services. If riders repeatedly forget to cancel trips that they have scheduled and do not plan to take, transportation services will be discontinued.
TACC observes the following holiday schedule and service will not be provided on these days: New Year’s Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day (2 days) and Christmas (2 days). Call the TACC office for dates.
Except for assistance animals (dogs), pets will not be allowed on the vans. Smoking, eating, drinking and weapons are not permitted.
For safety’s sake, seat belts must be worn at all times and, when appropriate, child safety seats and booster seats must be used in accordance with North Carolina laws and the seats must meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards. All stop locations, times and cost per trip are subject to change to improve service.
Seat belts must be worn at all times to ensure the safety of all riders. Ask the driver for assistance if you need help fastening your seatbelt. Parents must provide safety and booster seats for children as the law and TACC policy requires.
